  1. This is important take a minute to read it
If your car has been stolen in the past 60 days this may help. I have been trying to get Matt Gephardt to do a story about a scam that is being run on consumers that is related to car theft.
What the scam involves is a warranty that is being snuck into auto contracts without telling the consumer. The warranty is one that Kornerstone Administrative Services offers it’s called Autoshield Theft Protection. What the warranty offers is $2500 and $1000 towards the purchase of a car if your car is stolen, and it costs $399. The coverage is good for 5 years and has some exceptions and exclusions. The claim procedure is as follows.
    1. Claim must be filed within 60 days with issuing Dealer. Owner must provide the following to the dealer.
    2. Copy of primary insurance settlement proof of loss paperwork and check.
    3. Copy of police report.
    4. Copy of original dealership buyers order and,
    5. Copy of receipt for purchase and installation of the Autoshield Theft Protection System.
The system that they are talking about is decals that have been etched in your windows.
Just because it’s been more than 60 days don’t give up hope the warranty allows for an exception to this limit. It states as follows. Failure to provide such proof of loss within 60 days will not invalidate a claim if you show that it was not reasonably possible to provide the notice or the proof of loss within the prescribed time and that the notice was given or proof of loss was filed as soon as reasonably possible.
I am not a lawyer but it seems to me that if enough people claim that they had no idea that they had this coverage due to the fact that the dealer had snuck this in without informing the consumer that sounds like a reasonable excuse for not filing in time.
The reason the dealers are able to do this is because they are etching the windows of every car on their lots new or used so all they have to do is sneak in the paperwork with all the other paperwork you are signing and they’ve got you. Because the warranty is non-cancellable due to them etching your windows.
Now is the time to get some payback by surprising these crooked dealers and file a claim for something they never planned to pay out on because they knew that you had no idea you had this coverage.
Go to Kornerstone Administrative Services and check to see if you bought your car from a participating dealer. If you did chances are your windows where etched. Then check your paperwork and see if there is anything pertaining to Kornerstone, or Autoshield that has a charge of $399. Some of the main dealers are Stephen Wade, and Ken Garff who also owns Kornerstone.
If you have any questions you can contact me or leave a message at 435-627-0210 it would be my extreme pleasure to help you in any way I can. I hope this is helpful and benefits as many people as possible so share this on Facebook and any other social media that you can so that others can benefit also.
I am trying to get some legislation started to put a stop to this type of legal theft and I would appreciate it if you would read, sign, and share my petition so that I can prove that the consumer is tired of being taken advantage of. This is the link to my petition please consider signing it so we can stop this game of hide and seek that dealers are playing http://www.petitionbuzz.com/petitions/thievenwadeauto
